Bare-legged Owl, Margarobyas lawrencii is a species of owl in the Megascopini tribe. It is the only species in the genus Margarobyas and it endemic to Cuba.

Description[]
Length is 20–23 cm (7.9–9.1 in); weighs 84–111 g (3.0–3.9 oz)[3] and its wingspan is 137–154 millimetres (5.4–6.1 in).[2] A small,[2][4] large-[4] and round-headed[2] owl without ear tufts.[2][4] No data on sexual size differences.[2]
Plumage is brown[2] or occasionally rufous-brown[4] above, with blackish spots on the crown and hindneck,[2] and whitish tips in darker areas in centre on feathers of the mantle and wing coverts.[2] Small whitish areas on outer webs of scapulars form an only indistinct white row across the shoulder.[2]
