Pyrrhuloxia, Cardinalis sinuatus, is a species of cardinal in the Cardinalidae family. Its name is derived from Greek, pyrrhos, meaning flame-coloured and loxos meaning "slanted", an allusion to its plumage and parrot-like bill.
