Water bird

A general term (not a classification) for any bird that lives part of its life in or around water, especially the swimmers, divers and waders .

Examples

• Pelicans,
• Anhingas,
• Cormorants,
• Boobies,
• Gannets,
• Frigatebirds,
• All marsh birds,
• The waterfowl,
• The shorebirds,
• And most members of the gull and the auk family

The true seabirds, are usually those that live most their lives at sea (pelagic) .
